Where is the Kids Wing located?
The Kids Wing is located on the main floor just north of the Sanctuary. We have signs that will help you find the way.
Who are the volunteers?
Is there a check-in process?
Most of our volunteers are members of FBC Carthage, though some are regularly attending non-members. We have some paid workers on Wednesday Nights as well. All of our volunteers go through an application and screening process, including a criminal background check for your child's safety.
What if my child needs me?
Yes, we use a system called Planning Center Check-Ins. When you approach the Kids Wing you will see a check-in desk as well as a self check-in iPad. First time attendees will need to fill out an information sheet so that we can log your family into our system, and all subsequent check-ins can be done on the self check-in iPad. When you check your kids in, the printer will print a name tag sticker which you will peel off and put on your child's back. It will also print off another sticker with a corresponding code for you to keep. To ensure that your child will only be released to you, this code must be presented at check-out time.
If a child is inconsolable for 10 continuous minutes then we will call/text the cell-phone number provided. If you would like to stay with your child for the first few minutes to help them acclimate, you certainly can.
What will my child be taught?
We use the New City Catechism and Answers in Genesis for Sunday school. We recognize and celebrate that parents are responsible for their child's learning and are the primary disciplers in their children's lives. Our aim is to come alongside parents, being a resource as you help your children learn about and follow Jesus. We post weekly re-caps of what the kids learned along with photos of their experience in our private closed group on Facebook called "FBC Carthage Kids"
