Leadership & Staff
The ministry of FBC Carthage is led by a team of elders and assisted by deacons, but the members of FBC are the ones doing the work of ministry to those around them in their daily lives. The church staff helps support and enable this work and the church’s day-to-day ministry in various ways.
Jake Wright
Lead Pastor/Elder
Jake has served as the Lead Pastor since April 2018. He is married to Hannah and they have three children: Lucy, Boston, and Lincoln. He is a graduate of Wichita State University and earned a Masters of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently working towards a Doctor of Ministry degree. Jake loves preaching the Bible, kayaking, fishing in farm ponds, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Mark Jeffries
Elder
Mark has been an elder since 2019, and he and his wife Karel have been members of FBC Carthage since 2007. They have three grown children. Mark worked in telecommunications for 33 years before retiring in 2017. He now works part-time for the Carthage Parks and Recreation Department. He loves shepherding the congregation of FBC, a God-loving people of all ages.
Skyler Powers
Elder
Skyler and his wife Megan have been members of FBC Carthage since 2021 and he has served as an elder since 2022. Skyler completed his collegiate studies at Southwest Baptist University, graduating with a major in communications and a minor in Biblical studies. He and Megan have been married since 2009 and have 8 kids--Kyria, Brielle, Zoe, Jocelyn, Zion, Kohen, Boaz, and Evangeline. Skyler strives to live his life "All For God."
